When trauma occurs, time matters. Oftentimes, life-threatening trauma is the result of a sudden, acute injury, such as a gunshot wound, car crash or fall. Trauma could involve a head injury, internal bleeding, shattered bone, extensive wounds and other complex injuries.
When patients arrive in Bayfront Health St. Pete’s Trauma & Emergency Department, our team of health care professionals jump into action. Bayfront’s trauma department features board-certified trauma surgeons who are fellowship trained in trauma surgery.
